Dave Owen formed the torbay group of karate clubs in 1979, at that time under the banner of the
S.K.I. (Shotokan Karate International).

Shiro Asano 9th Dan was dave's cheif instructor for 18 years, before joining the
F.S.K (Federation of Shotokan Karate) with chief instructor
Aidan Trimble.

The South West of England Central Dojo has had many successful senior and junior results at both national and international competition level.
The club holds regular gradings, an annual couse and the south west championships. Specialist courses are run throughout the year with top instructors.
